Separation of Contents, Structures and Layout / Design

Almost every kind of Content Management System is based on the separated storage of content and HTML instructions.

In HTML files, the content itself as well as the instructions for the client software (e. g. web browser), are stored altogether. For instance: < font size=4>A test< /font> contains the text „A test“ and the instruction to edit the text in font size 4.

Almost every kind of Content Management System is based on the separated storage of content („A test“) and HTML instructions („ {head} “). At that spot, where content shall be displayed later, wild card characters are placed instead. Such HTML files are called templates.

Using templates brings significant advantages along with it: you could publish hundreds of articles on the internet, using just one template, each formatted in the same way and presented in an uniformly layout. This technique guarantees both, consistency and adherence of your own Corporate Design (CD) as well as simple and low priced alterations in layout or design.
