Depositation of Meta Information

The meta information is generated from the articles and categories by the Portalsuite 2002.

In case of articles, the meta title of the page and the meta description of the page is generated from the article summary. Meta search items are generated from global keywords which are deposited in the base setup and from keywords which are deposited in the article. The order plays an important role here, since some search engines only accept the first 100 or 200 characters or the first 50 keywords or something similar. Thus the most important keywords should stand in front ! For this reason the Portalsuite generates keywords according to the principle „Important global keywords + article keywords + further global keywords“. The „important global keywords“ deposited in the base setup should consist of approximately 10 and maximum 20 keywords.

The generation of meta information in overview pages works quite similar. The Portalsuite takes the necessary information from the categories. A brief description and specific category keywords can be deposited in the category editor.
