We would like to show you in this chapter how to index websites build with the Portalsuite 2002 in search engines and how the Portalsuite helps you equipping your website with the necessary meta information.

The abilities of the Portalsuite 2002 regarding continuous optimisation for search engines is one of the strengths of the Portalsuite 2002 and profiles the Portalsuite 2002 compared with other Content Management Systems significantly.

Indeed most of the features are implemented in the Advanced version or in higher versions only. Therefore the following paragraphs exclusively refer to the Advanced and of course to the Enterprise versionas well. Naturally it is also possible to register Light portals in the search engines - but not as widespread and automated as in the Advanced version. Maybe the search engine features are a stimulus for upgrading ;) We collected some hints on the registration in search engines for the Light version in the last paragraph of this chapter. As an assumption for this chapter you should bring basic HTML and template know-how of the previous chapters.
