Registration in Search EnginesMost of the search engines provide corresponding web forms in which you can enter your website’s address. Especially in case of fully activated rewriting rules normally the home page will suffice. Eventually it is useful to enter the most important categories as well. Of course you could alternatively use programmes which handle the registration procedures automatically for you. In doing so you should not give your e-mail address, because otherwise you will be drowned with commercial e-mails ;) You should also not let yourself be influenced by the commercial promises of those manufacturers who claim that their product indexes your website in hundreds or even thousands of search engines. Normally only one up to three dozens of search engines are important to be successful. The 5-10 top search engines normally generate 95 per cent of all search engine’s traffic in total.
